Conditionally Visible

The directions below only apply to projects that have retainage turned on and have a retained value of more than $0. If your project does not meet these requirements, you may not see all of the options listed below.

Once a project has a non-zero retained value you will have the option to release some or all of that value on the next Pay Request.

Pay Request Create/Edit Screen

The steps listed below pick up from the Pay Request creation screen. If you don't know how to get this screen (example below), please refer to our article on Invoice Creation for help.

Release Retainage

  1. At the bottom of the Pay Request creation/edit screen there will be Release Retainage button. Click this button to open the Release Retainage popup (pictured below).

  2. Enter the amount of retained value you want to release, up to the Current Retained Value display. Click the Release Retainage button to apply the change to the Pay Request. You will see the released retainage in the subtotal calculation at the bottom of the Pay Request.

Edit Released Retainage

Navigate to the bottom of the Pay Request create/edit screen. There will be a line item indicating the released retainage amount (example pictured below).

  • Click the yellow edit icon to display the Release Retainage popup from above. You can then edit the released value and save your change.

  • Click the red trash can icon to completely remove the released value from the current Pay Request. The amount will be returned to the total retained value for the project.
