Change Orders are a way to formally document a change to an active project that has a tangible affect on the Project or Group's contract. The most common uses for Change Orders is to add new SKU's to a Project or Group, or to modify the approved quantity of an existing item on a Project or Group.
Permissions
Change Orders can be created by Inspectors, Project Managers, and Admins.
Change Orders can only be approved by Project Managers and Admins.
Group Change Orders
Change Orders can only be created within a Project. Change Orders that affect Group Projects must be applied to each affected Project within the Group individually as a separate Change Order.
Create a Change Order
Navigate to the Project that needs to have the change order applied.
Select the Change Orders menu item within the Project menu.
Click the Create New Change Order button at the top of the table.
Step #1 - Basics
Make sure the correct Project is selected.
Select a Change Order Type.
Enter a short summary of the change order.
Enter a longer description of the change order and why it is needed.
Select Save & Next to continue.
Step #2 - Items
If you are adjusting items already in the current project, use the item selection box in the Current Item Adjustments section of the page to select the item you wish to adjust.
Once selected, enter the proposed change amount. This can be a negative number if needed.
Repeat this process until all desired items have been added to the list.
If you are adding a new item to the Project, select the blue Create a New Item button in the New Items section of the page.
Fill out the new item popup form with the correct information and select Add Item to add the change to the Change Order.
Once you have entered all of the desired changes, you can verify the dollar value change to the contract by viewing the Current Project Total, Adjusted Project Total, and Total Change Order Value at the top of the page.
Click Save & Next to continue.
Step #3 - Review
Use the review page to double-check the proper values and amounts on the change order before submitting it for approval by a Project Manager or Admin.
You can also export the change order on this page by clicking the blue Export button on the top right of the screen.
