Connect your Microsoft account to Oversite

Connect Oversite to your Microsoft work or school account from the Integrations settings page, and reconnect or disconnect it later.

The Microsoft Teams integration connects Oversite to your Microsoft work or school account so you can create Teams meetings from Oversite. You connect it once from the Integrations page in your account settings.

The integration works best when a company administrator connects it on behalf of the organization, so the connection is available to everyone in the company. You sign in with your own Microsoft account.

How to connect your Microsoft account

Open your account Settings and select Integrations.

  1. Find the Microsoft Teams card.

  2. Click Connect Microsoft Teams.

  3. On Microsoft's sign-in screen, sign in with the account you want to use.

  4. Review the access Oversite is requesting. If you are an administrator, check the box to Consent on behalf of your organization so the integration works for everyone in your company.

  5. Approve the request.

Microsoft returns you to the Integrations page. When the connection succeeds, a confirmation message appears and the status changes to Connected. The card then shows the connected account and the date you connected.

How to reconnect your Microsoft account

Reconnect if your connection stops working, for example after a password change or if access was revoked in Microsoft.

Open your account Settings and select Integrations.

  1. On the Microsoft Teams card, click Reconnect.

  2. Sign in and approve access again.

The card returns to Connected and you can create Teams meetings again.

How to disconnect your Microsoft account

Open your account Settings and select Integrations.

  1. On the Microsoft Teams card, click Disconnect.

The status returns to Not connected. You can no longer create new Teams meetings until you reconnect. Teams meetings you already created keep their existing join links and calendar events.

Troubleshooting

I saw an error after clicking Connect

An error message appears at the top of the Integrations page. Click Connect Microsoft Teams and try again. If Microsoft asks you to consent for your organization, make sure you are signed in with an administrator account.

My account shows as connected but Teams meetings fail to create

Your access may have expired or been revoked in Microsoft. On the Microsoft Teams card, click Reconnect and approve access again.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Microsoft account to use Oversite?

No. The Microsoft Teams integration is optional. You only need it to create Teams meetings, calendar invites, and transcripts from Oversite. Every other Oversite feature works without it.

Does everyone in my company need to connect their own account?

The integration is designed to be set up by a company administrator who signs in and consents on behalf of the organization. When Microsoft prompts you, check the box to consent for your organization so the integration is available to your team.

Whose calendar is a Teams meeting created in?

A Teams meeting is scheduled from the Microsoft account that created it. That account appears as the organizer.
