Once your Microsoft account is connected, you can add a Microsoft Teams meeting to an Oversite meeting. Oversite creates the Teams online meeting, adds it to your calendar, and sends attendees a calendar invite with the join link. Teams meetings are part of Oversite's Meetings feature.
Connect your account first on the Integrations page under Settings. If your account is not connected, the Microsoft Teams section on a meeting shows a reminder to connect, with a link to the Integrations page.
How to add a Teams meeting to a new meeting
Open the Meetings area and start a new meeting.
Fill in the meeting details. The fields are listed under Meeting fields below.
In the Microsoft Teams section, turn on the Create Teams meeting toggle. A note confirms that a Teams meeting link will be generated and shared with attendees.
Click Create Meeting.
Oversite creates the Teams meeting, adds it to your calendar, and the meeting's status becomes Scheduled.

How to add a Teams meeting to a meeting that already exists

The meeting links to a new Teams meeting and its status becomes Scheduled.
How to join or share a Teams meeting
Once a meeting is linked to Teams, its detail page shows a Microsoft Teams card with a Join Meeting button.
On the meeting's detail page, click Join Meeting to open the meeting in Microsoft Teams.
When you edit the meeting, the linked meeting appears with an Open join link option. Attendees receive the same join link in the calendar invite that Microsoft sends when the Teams meeting is created, so they can join from their own calendar.
How the calendar stays in sync
After a Teams meeting is created, Oversite keeps the Microsoft calendar event in step with the meeting in Oversite.
When you change the meeting's time, agenda, or attendee list, the calendar event updates to match.
When you cancel the meeting, Oversite removes the linked Teams meeting and calendar event and notifies attendees.
You do not need to update Microsoft separately. Make your changes in Oversite and they carry across.
Meeting statuses
Status | Meaning |
Draft | A new meeting. You can still edit or delete it. |
Scheduled | A Teams meeting has been created for this meeting. |
Completed | The meeting has taken place. Marking a Teams meeting complete starts transcript retrieval. |
Cancelled | The meeting was called off. Its linked Teams meeting and calendar event are removed. |
Troubleshooting
The Create Teams meeting toggle is not available
Your Microsoft account may not be connected. Open Settings, select Integrations, and connect on the Microsoft Teams card. The meeting may also already be linked to a Teams meeting, in which case you see a Teams meeting linked label instead of the toggle.
My account shows as connected but the Teams meeting failed to create
Your access may have expired or been revoked in Microsoft. On the Integrations page, click Reconnect on the Microsoft Teams card and approve access again.
Attendees did not receive an invite
Confirm the meeting has at least one attendee and a meeting date in the future. Check that external attendee email addresses are correct.
Frequently asked questions
Can I invite people outside my company?
Yes. Add external attendees by email. They receive the invite and the Teams join link even though they are not part of your Microsoft organization.
Do I have to update Microsoft when meeting details change?
No. Change the meeting in Oversite and the linked calendar event updates automatically.
Can I delete a meeting?
You can delete a meeting only while it is in Draft status. Once a meeting has a Teams meeting linked or has been completed, you can no longer delete it, but you can cancel it.
What happens to my Teams meetings if I disconnect?
Disconnecting stops you from creating new Teams meetings. Meetings you already created keep their Teams links and calendar events.
