Add signatures to a pay request

Add engineer, prime contractor, and owner signatures to a pay request by drawing, uploading, or applying a saved signature.

A pay request can carry an Engineer's Signature, a Prime Contractor's Signature, and an Owner's Signature. You add signatures on the pay request review screen.

How to add a signature to a pay request

Open the pay request and go to its review screen.

  1. Find the signature area for the signer you need: Engineer's Signature, Prime Contractor's Signature, or Owner's Signature.

  2. Draw a signature, upload an image of one, or apply a saved signature.

The signature is saved to the pay request and appears in that signer's block.

Note: Signatures are independent of the status. You can approve or mark a pay request paid without signatures, and you can sign a pay request while it is still a Draft.

To show or hide a signature block on the exported document, toggle that block in the PDF export options on the review screen.

Troubleshooting

A signature is not showing on the exported PDF. Open the export options and turn that signer's signature block on before you download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need signatures before I can approve or mark a pay request paid? No. Signatures are separate from the status. You can approve or record payment without signatures, and you can sign a pay request while it is still a draft.
