Offline Mode lets you create and edit daily inspections when your device has no internet connection, such as on a remote job site or inside a structure with no signal. Turn it on and download the projects you need while you still have a connection. After that you can work without signal, and Oversite uploads everything automatically once you reconnect.

Offline Mode covers daily inspections only, both creating and editing. Other areas of Oversite still need a connection.

You set up and manage Offline Mode from the Offline Settings tab on the New Inspection page. From there you turn the feature on, choose which projects to make available offline, and see how much storage your offline data uses. While offline, you create and edit inspections from the same New Inspection page you always use. When you reconnect, Oversite uploads your work, and you can track anything still waiting on the Pending Sync page. For uploading, retrying, or removing changes, see Managing Pending Sync.

Set up Offline Mode while you still have a connection, before you head somewhere without signal. There are two parts: turn the feature on once, then download each project you plan to inspect.

Start on the New Inspection page. Open it from the navigation, or click Offline Mode in the navigation to land on the Offline Settings tab directly.

Once it finishes, the card confirms offline mode is enabled and prompts you to select projects below. You only need to turn it on once. It stays on for that device until you turn it off.

Note: Offline Mode is saved for the one device and browser you turn it on with. Turning it on for your phone does not turn it on for your laptop.

Downloading a project saves the reference data you need to fill out an inspection without a connection, including its items, crews, and forms.

Once a project is available offline, its row shows Last synced with how long ago the data was downloaded, along with the number of cached inspections stored on your device. Repeat for every project you expect to visit.

Note: While you're offline, the Offline Settings tab is read only and shows only the projects you already downloaded. You need a connection to add or remove cached projects.

Oversite shows clear signals so you always know your connection state.

You can start a new inspection with no connection, as long as you made the project available offline first. Start on the New Inspection page.

Your new inspection is stored on your device and marked with a Pending Sync badge until it uploads. You can close the app or restart the device, and the draft will still be there.

Note: If item availability could not be downloaded for the project, the form notes that Remaining Quantity is best effort until you reconnect.

Inspections you started offline stay on your device so you can keep working on them without a connection. Start on the New Inspection page.

Each draft shows a badge for its state, such as Pending Sync for work waiting to upload or Sync Failed if an upload did not succeed.

When your device comes back online, Oversite uploads your offline changes for you. The Syncing banner shows the upload in progress, and a message confirms the result when it finishes. Oversite also refreshes your cached project data so you're working from the latest information.

If you open an inspection you created offline once you're back online, Oversite checks whether it still needs to upload.

Best practice: Before you close the app for the day, get back into signal or Wi-Fi and confirm everything has synced. The orange and blue banners should be gone and the pending count should reach zero.

Offline data lives on your device and takes up storage. Manage it from the Offline Settings tab on the New Inspection page.

To turn the feature off entirely, turn the Enable Offline Mode switch off.

Warning: Clearing a project's offline data deletes any inspections for that project that have not uploaded yet. If the project has unsynced or failed changes, Oversite warns you and asks you to confirm, because the changes are permanently deleted. Sync your work before clearing.

Open the Offline Settings tab from the New Inspection page, or click Offline Mode in the navigation. Make sure you're using a device and browser that support offline storage.

You have to make a project available offline while you're online. Turn on Enable Offline Mode, then turn the project's switch on, before you lose signal. While offline, the project list shows only the projects you already downloaded.

The app did not finish preparing while online. Turn the Enable Offline Mode switch off and on again on a strong connection, or reload the page and try again. Pages that did not cache may not open while you're offline.

Confirm you're back online, so the orange offline banner is gone. Then open the Pending Sync page and click Sync All, or Sync on a single inspection. See Managing Pending Sync.

If item availability could not be downloaded for the project, the form treats Remaining Quantity as best effort until you reconnect. Reconnect and reopen the inspection for accurate values.

Offline data can be cleared if your device runs low on storage or if you clear your browsing data. Allow the storage permission prompt when you enable Offline Mode, and upload your work as soon as you're back online.
