After you run AI Inspection Review on a daily inspection, the AI review (beta) strip and the inspection show the results: a recommendation, a row of health checks, a list of findings, and quantity pills on the line items the assistant checked. This article explains what each of those means and how to act on the recommendation. For how to run a review, see Running an AI inspection review.
Everything the review shows is advisory. It never changes the inspection or its status. You decide the outcome.
What the recommendation means
The AI review (beta) strip shows a recommendation badge with a count of findings. The recommendation is one of three values.
Recommendation | What it means |
Approve | The inspection looks complete and consistent, and the assistant suggests it is ready to approve. |
Deny | The assistant found problems serious enough that it suggests denying the inspection. |
Needs info | The assistant found gaps, or work described in the notes that is not backed by a pay item, and suggests resolving those before approving. |
The recommendation comes with a confidence level, which reflects how sure the assistant is. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee, and read the findings before you decide.
What the health checks mean
Next to the recommendation, the strip shows a row of health check pills. Each one covers a different part of the inspection.
Check | What it looks at |
Formula | Whether item quantities recompute correctly from the measurements or formulas entered. |
Placement | Whether work described in the narrative has a matching pay item with a non-zero quantity. |
Quantity | Whether the recorded quantities look accurate overall. |
Notes | Whether the written notes are clear and complete. |
Completeness | Whether the inspection includes everything it needs. |
Each check carries an indicator you can hover for a short explanation.
Indicator | What it means |
Passing | No issues were found for this check. |
Needs attention | The assistant flagged something worth a look. |
Failing | The assistant found a problem that should be addressed. |

How to see the findings
When a review produces findings, a Show details control appears in the AI review (beta) strip.
In the strip, click Show details.
Read the list of findings. Each one shows the category it belongs to, a short title, and a description of what the assistant noticed.
Click Hide details to collapse the list again.
What the quantity pills on line items mean
Where the assistant checked an item's quantity, a small pill appears next to that item on the inspection.
Pill | What it means |
Validated | The computed quantity matches the recorded quantity. |
Variance | There is a difference within an acceptable range that is worth a quick look. |
Mismatch | The computed and recorded quantities do not match. |
To see the detail behind a pill, click it. A panel opens showing the Computed value, the Stored (placed) value, and the Discrepancy percentage, along with a short explanation.
How to act on the recommendation
The review helps you decide, but you set the outcome yourself. It never changes the inspection's status.
Read the recommendation, then click Show details to see why.
Check the quantity pills on the line items and any placement flags in the findings.
Apply or ignore the suggested rewrites as you see fit. See Applying and reverting AI suggested rewrites.
Set the inspection's status yourself using the status control on the inspection, for example marking it Approved or Denied.

Note: If the recommendation is Needs info, the assistant is pointing out something to resolve, such as work described in the notes that has no matching pay item. Address the gap and run the review again if you want an updated assessment.
Troubleshooting
I can only see the recommendation, not the individual checks. On smaller screens the individual health check pills are hidden. Widen your browser window to see them.
The recommendation says Needs info. This usually means the assistant found work described in the notes that has no matching pay item, a matched item with a zero quantity, or a gap in completeness. Resolve the flagged items and run the review again for an updated result.
A line item shows Mismatch. Click the pill to open the panel and compare the Computed and Stored (placed) values and the Discrepancy percentage. Correct the quantity on the inspection if needed, then run the review again.
Frequently asked questions
Does the AI approve or deny inspections for me? No. The review only recommends an outcome and highlights findings. You decide and set the inspection's status yourself.
What does the confidence level mean? It reflects how sure the assistant is about its recommendation. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee, and always review the findings before deciding.
