Oversite Voice works by voice by default, and you can adjust how you use it. You can type instead of talking, have answers read back to you, and turn on a high-contrast display for direct sunlight. How to type instead of talking
On a loud site, or when you would rather not speak, switch to typed entry.
Tap the keyboard button. The microphone is replaced by a text box.
Type an update or a question.
Press Enter, or tap Send.
Typed entries go through the same review and confirm steps as spoken ones, and are recorded in the session history as typed. Tap the keyboard button again to switch back to voice.
How to turn spoken replies on or off
Tap the speaker button to turn spoken replies on and off. They are off by default.
With spoken replies on, Oversite reads out new answers and each new card as it opens, so you can work without looking at the screen. It never reads your own words back to you. Pressing the microphone stops it talking immediately, so you never have to wait for it to finish before you speak.
How to turn on high-contrast mode
Tap the sun button to turn on high-contrast mode, which makes the chat readable in direct light. It stays on for your next session.

On a phone, these controls live behind the gear button labeled Quick Entry settings. On a tablet they sit in a row above the microphone, and on a wide screen along the top of the side rail.
The chat sheet on a phone has a grab handle at the top. Tap it to cycle the sheet between full height, latest message only, and collapsed, or drag it. When it is collapsed and changes are waiting, a badge on the handle shows how many.
